Happy New Year and GADWALL Watching

Happy New Year to all,
And now assign your eyes and ears to great Bird-Watching.
January 2009 is dedicated to the second most common visitor of Udaipur
It's Gadwall (Anas strepera)
If you are passing by a lake and suddenly hear a laughing sound, one like DONAND DUCK then probably it could be Gadwall.
The male is a grey coloured duck.
Female is somewhat brown and have dull colours.
Photos of both male and female are posted for your refrence.

Here the upper one, brownish duck is Female
The lower one, greyish duck is Male

Usually they swim in pairs so you can easily sight both the sexes of bird.

REGARDS,
Munku
and Suviiiii
